Yet another rice snack to steal your hearts...

 
 
Ingredients
01. Raw Rice – 1 cup
02. Boiled rice – 1 cup
03. Urad Dal – 1 cup
04. Coconut (grated) – 6 level cups
05. Cumin seeds – 1 dstspn
06. Salt – to taste
07. Coconut oil – ½ l
Preparation
01. Wash and clean the raw rice, boiled rice and the urad dal and soak each separately.
02. Grind the soaked urad dal in a grinder, with very little water into a smooth paste.
03. Grind the rice to a slightly coarse paste.
04. Grind the grated coconut with salt and the cumin seeds into a thick paste.
05. Mix all the ground pastes together, add a little water and knead well.
06. Add a quarter cup of coconut oil and knead well again.
07. Rub a little oil or water on your palm. Now put a little of the batter on your palm and shape it like a parippu vada. Take a small portion of the batter into roll into  gooseberry - sized balls.
08. Heat oil in a frying pan and when it boils, add the flattened and round orottis and fry.
09. Stir once when they are partly cooked. Fry well and remove from the oil when they turn golden brown.
